Sheffield Half Marathon 2010
10 reasons to run the 2010 Sheffield Half Marathon
The 2009 Sheffield Half Marathon was the most successful run to date with 5,500 places filled weeks ahead of the official closing date. Organisers are gearing up for another capacity event next year with 10 local benefiting charities hoping to swell their coffers once again.
Margaret Lilley, chair of the Sheffield Half Marathon organising committee, said: "After the massive success of the race in April this year, we are very excited about the 2010 event. It is already promising to be the biggest yet, having had a higher number of entries than the same time last year, but we are continuing to urge people to break more records with us.
Richard Green, Sales Director for the northern division at sponsors SIG Insulations, said: "We are proud to once again be sponsoring the Sheffield Half Marathon. The race is a fantastic benefit to the city and a wonderful cause to be part of. We are hoping to witness another record breaking year for the race."
The chosen charities for the 2010 Sheffield Half Marathon are Macmillan Cancer Support, Myasthenia Gravis Association, RSPCA Sheffield, Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre South Yorkshire, Sheffield Wildlife Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Sheffield's Teenage Cancer Trust and Motor Neurone Disease Association South Yorkshire.
